Copper Hills had lost nine straight at home dating back to last season, but  on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 3-15 to make it ten. They fell just short of the Mountain Ridge Sentinels by a score of  7-6. On the bright side, the six- run  performance marked the Grizzlies' highest-scoring  contest to date.
 Copper Hills saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Kasen Nelson, who  went 1-for-3 with two  RBI. Those  RBI were  Nelson's first of the season.
As for Mountain Ridge,  the  win snapped their losing streak at three games  and leaves them with a 12-6 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory they have posted  against Copper Hills since April 11, 2023.
On Mountain Ridge's side,  Karson Fankhauser tossed a big game,   keeping things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out seven over 5.2 innings pitched. Those  seven  strikeouts gave  Fankhauser a new career-high.
 At the plate,  Brody Garrard was  excellent,  going 1-for-4 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI. That's the most  RBI  he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Stockton Fowlks, who  went 2-for-4 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
While Copper Hills had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 3:30  p.m.  on Friday.
