Baseball Recap: Pima Roughriders vs. San Tan Charter Roadrunners

Pima extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 8-11-1 in the process. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the San Tan Charter Roadrunners. The Roughriders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Roadrunners apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.

Aiden Alder made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Pima is 3-1 when Alder posts two or more runs, but 5-10-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Cedrick Grimes, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

On San Tan Charter's side, Tyrus Colomer looked comfortable as he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Colomer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tommy Crupi and Joe Markland did most of the damage at the plate: Crupi went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Markland got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Ayden Aronowitz also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
