Softball Recap: Skyline Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Skyline can now relate to. They fell just short of the Kettle Run Cougars by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The contest marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Mackenzie McIntyre was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

The loss snapped Skyline's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-11 record. As for Kettle Run, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8.

Skyline does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kettle Run, they will face off against Brentsville District at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
