Softball Recap: Liberty Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

Liberty won the last time they faced Caruthers and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Hawks walked away with a 4-1 win over the Blue Raiders. That's two games straight that the Hawks have won by exactly three runs.

Macie Webster spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, Ari Aguayo was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Macey Cox, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Liberty is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Caruthers, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-10.

As of now, neither Liberty nor the Blue Raiders have any future games scheduled.
