Basketball Recap: Old Town Comes Up Short

After soaring to 55 points the game before, Old Town was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They were dealt a 61-29 defeat at the hands of the Ellsworth Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while the Eagles are ranked tenth).

Old Town's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Ellsworth, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Old Town will face off against Hermon at 4:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for Ellsworth, they will square off against Mount Desert Island at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
