Volleyball Recap: Waynesfield-Goshen Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Waynesfield-Goshen faced off against Triad on Saturday. The Tigers came up short against the Cardinals, falling 3-0. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Waynesfield-Goshen was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-22, 25-20.

Triad can attribute much of their success to Elley Dorn, who had 18 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Dorn has posted over her last six matchups.

Waynesfield-Goshen's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Triad, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Waynesfield-Goshen will be playing in front of their home fans against Upper Scioto Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Triad, they will face off against Calvary Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
