Softball Recap: Fulton's Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

Fulton fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against West Genesee on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took an 18-15 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The loss continues a trend for the Red Raiders in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Fulton got a massive performance out of Mylah Dempsey, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one double, and one RBI. That double was Dempsey's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rose Douglas, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Fulton fell to 6-1. As for West Genesee, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fulton will square off against East Syracuse-Minoa at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for West Genesee, they will challenge Cicero-North Syracuse at 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
