Elgin hadn't done well against Fairbanks recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Comets were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Panthers. This was payback for the Comets, who suffered a 10-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

Elgin has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs this season. As for Fairbanks, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
