Baseball Recap: Medway Makes It Four in a Row at Home

Medway won the last time they faced Bellingham and things went their way on Monday too. The Mustangs came out on top against the Blackhawks by a score of 4-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Matt Olynciw spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Trevor Smith was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Jack Heavner, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Medway's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Bellingham, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Medway will face off against rival Hopkinton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Bellingham is set to challenge their familiar foe Millis at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
