Preview: Rome Wolves vs. Carrollton Trojans
Rome is 2-8 against Carrollton since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Both teams will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Rome is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Last Saturday, things could have been worse for Rome, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-44 loss to Dalton.
Meanwhile, even though Mount Pisgah Christian scored an imposing 55 points on Saturday, Carrollton still came out on top. Carrollton walked away with a 64-55 win over Mount Pisgah Christian. Given Carrollton's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while Mount Pisgah Christian is ranked 309th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rome has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season. As for Carrollton, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.
Rome was taken down by Carrollton 74-44 when the teams last played last Saturday. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Rome was down 40-16.
