Baseball Recap: Salem Hills Comes Up Short

Salem Hills lost against Springville on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Skyhawks lost 13-3 to the Red Devils. Skyhawks fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Red Devils since on Thursday.

Mason Ward made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Kaleb DeGraffenried was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Salem Hills and nudges their season record down to 6-11. As for Springville, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salem Hills will square off against Cedar Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Skyhawks are facing the Aviators at the right time seeing as the Aviators are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Springville, they will host Spanish Fork at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Dons will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Red Devils surely won't give up without a fight.
