Baseball Recap: Amherst-Pelham Regional Takes a Loss

Amherst-Pelham Regional had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-6 to make it four. They came up short against the Mount Greylock Regional Mounties, falling 9-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mounties this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-1 last Wednesday.

Colin Beganny was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. Caleb Sexton also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

As for Mount Greylock Regional, they now have a winning record of 4-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by seven runs or more this season.

On Mount Greylock Regional's side, the team relied heavily on Jameson Bayliss, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Cole Wetherell was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

Amherst-Pelham Regional wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 22-6 defeat against Southwick Regional on the 18th. As for Mount Greylock Regional, they have also already played their next contest, an 18-7 loss against Monument Mountain on the 18th.
