Baseball Recap: Connersville Takes a Loss

Connersville fell victim to Franklin County and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 7-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Spartans were not able to get on the board.

Connersville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Shearer, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Connersville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Franklin County, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Connersville will welcome Lawrence Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans are facing the Bears at the right time seeing as the Bears are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Franklin County, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Union County at 11:00 a.m.
