Baseball Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Galatia/Thompsonville's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Galatia/Thompsonville unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Vienna Eagles by a score of 6-5. The Bearcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Joey Sais made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

Galatia/Thompsonville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Vienna, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Galatia/Thompsonville will head out to face off against Johnston City at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Johnston City's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Galatia/Thompsonville's hitters will have their work cut out for them. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Oran will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Vienna surely won't give up without a fight.
