Baseball Recap: Churchill Comes Up Short

Churchill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 12-6 to the San Marcos Rattlers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chargers of the 5-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Churchill's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for San Marcos, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-5-1.

Coming up, Churchill will challenge Brandeis at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brandeis' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Churchill's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for San Marcos, they will face off against Judson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Judson has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.83 runs per game on average), something San Marcos will no doubt try to take advantage of.
