Basketball Recap: Eldon Haack's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Franklin over Arapahoe

Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 47-33 fall against the Arapahoe Warriors. The Flyers lost against the Warriors in their previous head to head back in February of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 70-29 score last time.

Franklin lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Eldon Haack, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 20 boards. Haack is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least 13 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caiden Peterman, who posted 11 points and four steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Arapahoe to victory, but perhaps none more so than William Cacy, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Cacy has scored at least a third of Arapahoe's points. Another player making a difference was Eli Shafer, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.

Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Arapahoe, with the win, they broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-8.

Franklin and Southern Valley will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Arapahoe, they and Blue Hill will face off at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
