Volleyball Recap: Highland Trojans vs. Andrean Fighting 59ers
Highland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Andrean Fighting 59ers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Fighting 59ers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-16, 25-12.
Kaitlin Smith paced Highland's offense, picking up eight kills. Smith got some help from Alivia Ekanem and her 14 assists.
Andrean can attribute much of their success to Dani Poskin, who had 30 digs and three assists. Poskin is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 21 games she's played. Kaylee Bradley also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.
Highland's loss dropped their record down to 6-21. As for Andrean, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-14 record this season.
Highland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Munster on the 9th. As for Andrean, they have also already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Hammond Bishop Noll on the 9th.
