Katy Taylor beats Jordan for their third straight win

The Katy Taylor Mustangs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They snuck past Jordan with a 30-24 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given Katy Taylor's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 351st, while Jordan is ranked 151st).

Katy Taylor got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dante Archie out in front who gained 123 total yards and a touchdown. Jeremy McCullough did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 81 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Jordan's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Andrew Marsh, who picked up 136 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Willetts, who threw for 379 yards and three touchdowns.

Katy Taylor is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Jordan, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.

Katy Taylor will head out on the road to face off against Paetow at 6:30 p.m. on October 27th. Paetow is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Jordan, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tompkins at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Tompkins' favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three contests.
