Softball Recap: Springboro's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Springboro put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Fairfield Indians. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Katie Jonas looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Aysia Davis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one double. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bri Schul, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Springboro kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Springboro's victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Looking ahead, Springboro will face off against Mt. Vernon at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. Springboro's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Mt. Vernon's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Fairfield, they will square off against Seton at 5:00 p.m. on March 25th.
