North Duplin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 81-67 to the James Kenan Tigers. One positive for the Rebels, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

North Duplin's loss came despite strong showings from Duquan Stevens and Donavan Armwood. Stevens went 9 for 18 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds, while Armwood went 9 of 18 on his way to 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Kelly, who posted six points and five rebounds.

North Duplin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for James Kenan, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Duplin will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Princeton at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025. James Kenan will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against East Duplin at 8:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. One thing working in James Kenan's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
