Basketball Game Preview: South Side Hornet vs. Central Arkansas Christian Mustangs

The South Side Hornet will head out to challenge the Central Arkansas Christian Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Central Arkansas Christian took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on South Side, who comes in off a win.

South Side will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Mt. Vernon-Enola, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. South Side sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-50 win over Mt. Vernon-Enola on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Central Arkansas Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat. They were dealt a 76-20 loss at the hands of Quitman. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 11th).

Central Arkansas Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-22. As for South Side, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-12.

Everything came up roses for South Side against Central Arkansas Christian in their previous meeting on January 9th, as the team secured a 57-15 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Side since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
