League recap: Menlo-Atherton stuns Aragon in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Menlo-Atherton, who took down 270th ranked Aragon, 28-23. Royce Branning threw for 206 yards and two touchdowns and ran for eight yards in the win.

Sacred Heart Prep extended the longest winning streak in Peninsula - Bay this week by beating Burlingame, 10-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.

The Bears' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Talaiasi (Tasi) Teu chipped in 88 yards. Blake Olsen helped Menlo-Atherton's passing attack out by catching two balls for 37 yards.

Evan Perkins was the best wideout in the league this week as Menlo-Atherton defeated the Dons. Perkins racked up two receptions for 108 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Terra Nova takes on Sacred Heart Prep. The Tigers are in fourth place, while Peter Lavorato's team is in first place.

There should be lots of points scored when Terra Nova and the Gators face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Bill Gray's team comes in having scored 106 this season, while Sacred Heart Prep has scored 180.

Sione Taufoou's team moved up to 283 from 360 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Peninsula - Bay. The Bears climbed the ranks as a result of a 28-23 win over Aragon.
