Basketball Recap: South Paulding Takes a Loss

South Paulding and Brunswick squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but South Paulding had to settle for second. They lost 69-49 to the Brunswick Pirates. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Spartans have suffered since February 8, 2024.

Brunswick's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Heze Kent, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 20 boards. Kent has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 17 times he's played. Caleb Butler was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and ten boards.

South Paulding's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 19-10. As for Brunswick, their win bumped their record up to 22-4.

South Paulding does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Brunswick, they will face off against Habersham Central at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Habersham Central will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Brunswick surely won't give up without a fight.
