            Softball Recap: King George Foxes vs. Westmoreland Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            King George  took care of business in their home opener  (and then some) on Thursday. They blew past the Westmoreland Eagles 9-3.
 Kelsea Minter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  tossed three innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   one  hit. That's the fewest  hits  she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs and one  triple.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Paige Headley, who  went a perfect 4-for-4 with one  home run, five  RBI,  and three  doubles. Those  five  RBI gave  her a new career-high.  Kallie Slovack was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  double.
Westmoreland's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. King George will head out to  face off against Stafford  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Westmoreland, they will square off against Northumberland at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday.
