Baseball Recap: Asheboro Takes a Loss

Asheboro lost against Ledford back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Blue Comets took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Blue Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mason Kotlowski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Ben Luck made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Asheboro's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Ledford, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Asheboro will challenge Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Blue Comets surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ledford, they will face off against Southeast Guilford at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
