The Weston Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Acton-Boxborough Revolution at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Weston is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

Weston is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Bedford on Wednesday. They fell 5-1 to the Buccaneers. The matchup marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Weston saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryuji Nawa, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Acton-Boxborough started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Wayland. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 7-5 on Monday. The Revolution have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Evan Koh put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single hit and allowing only two earned runs over 4.1 innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero hits, the fewest he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jackson Healy made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Jonathan Schick also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Acton-Boxborough's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Weston, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 9-1.

Weston took their victory against Acton-Boxborough in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
