Basketball Preview: Mather Rangers vs. Fasman Yeshiva
After both having extra time off, the Mather Rangers and Fasman Yeshiva will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. Mather has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Two weeks ago, Mather came up short against North Chicago and fell 76-64. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game two weeks ago (61), the Rangers still had to take the loss.

Mather's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Adin Smajlovic, who went 13 for 22 on his way to 38 points and five rebounds, and Jeremiah Chalwe, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds. Smajlovic's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fasman Yeshiva). They blew past Noble Street College Prep, posting a 77-40 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Fasman Yeshiva.
Fasman Yeshiva now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Mather, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Mather was able to grind out a solid victory over Fasman Yeshiva in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 45-34. Will Mather repeat their success, or does Fasman Yeshiva have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
