On Monday, Digital Pioneers Academy faced Maret in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Digital Pioneers Academy Pythons took a 65-48 bruising from the Maret Frogs. The Pythons were down 48-27 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Digital Pioneers Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kenneth Borders, who went 5 of 7 en route to 13 points and three steals. Borders is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Imran Buttt, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 10 points.

Digital Pioneers Academy's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6. As for Maret, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

As for Maret, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-41 loss against Potomac School on the 16th.
