Volleyball Recap: Central Regional Comes Up Short

Central Regional was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Colts Neck Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Eagles of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Central Regional started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-14, 25-17.

Central Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Colts Neck, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Regional will take on Barnegat at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Colts Neck, they will challenge Wall Township at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
