Volleyball Recap: Wagner Takes a Loss

Wagner suffered their biggest loss since October 22, 2024 on Monday. They lost 3-0 to the Burke Cougars. If the Red Raiders were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Cougars when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Burke scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-20, 25-20.

Hannah Holzbauer paced Wagner's offense, picking up nine kills. Holzbauer got some help from Braxton Nedved and her 18 assists. Finally, Ravyn Medricky kept Wagner's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Wagner's loss dropped their record down to 22-7. As for Burke, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 27-5.

As of now, neither Wagner nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
