Basketball Game Preview: St. Johns Redwings vs. Northwest Mounties

The St. Johns Redwings will head out on the road to face off against the Northwest Mounties at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

St. Johns took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 50-33 win over Fowlerville.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northwest). They were the clear victor by a 41-20 margin over Pennfield on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Mounties have posted since March 6, 2024.

St. Johns' win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Northwest, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-7.

St. Johns came up short against Northwest in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 59-48. Can St. Johns avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
