Softball Recap: Downingtown East Cougars vs. East Vikings
Downingtown East extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping their season record up to 8-5 in the process. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the East Vikings a 6-0 shutout. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.
Sam Wendig was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Wendig was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double.
