Volleyball Recap: East Carteret Starts Season with Loss on the Road

East Carteret kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Swansboro Pirates, falling 3-0. The Mariners haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-7, 25-16.

When it comes to explaining why East Carteret lost, don't look at Ashley Mintz. Despite the final result, she had 21 digs.

Coming up, East Carteret will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against West Carteret at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Swansboro, they will face off against White Oak at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
