Softball Recap: Mason Has No Trouble Against Lakota West

Mason was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Lakota West on Friday. The Comets' pitchers stepped up to hand the Firebirds a 10-0 shutout. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Comets this season.

Mason is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Lakota West, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Mason will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against East Central at 5:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Lakota West, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Middletown at 5:00 p.m.
