Strasburg-Franklin is a perfect 6-0 against Tuscarawas Valley since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Tigers will host the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Strasburg-Franklin's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Frontier. The win was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Miley Reifenschneider made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Strasburg-Franklin let Addie Sundheimer and Olivia Spidell run wild. Sundheimer went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Spidell got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Spidell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rylee Becker, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Tuscarawas Valley made sure to put some runs up on the board against Union Local on Wednesday. The Trojans put the hurt on the Jets with a sharp 10-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Trojans, who have now won four contests in a row.
Like Strasburg-Franklin, Tuscarawas Valley also got a great game from a two-way player: Brennen Reichman. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 15 over six innings pitched. Reichman was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
In other batting news, Calli Stutz was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Kyra Garbrandt was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Tuscarawas Valley's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Strasburg-Franklin, their victory bumped their record up to 16-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Strasburg-Franklin hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Tuscarawas Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
