Baseball Game Preview: St. Johns Country Day Spartans vs. Richmond Hill Wildcats

The St. Johns Country Day Spartans will challenge the Richmond Hill Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as St. Johns Country Day comes in on four and Richmond Hill on six.

On Monday, St. Johns Country Day beat Lowndes 7-2.

Madden Williams looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on TJ Sunderhaus, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Rodgers, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Richmond Hill). They blew past Camden County 20-10 on Friday.

Richmond Hill pushed their record up to 15-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for St. Johns Country Day, their victory bumped their record up to 14-6.
