Volleyball Recap: St. James Academy's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

St. James Academy entered their tilt with Blue Valley on Tuesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 last Saturday.

St. James Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-21, 25-17.

Their offense was headlined by Mya Lee and Madeline Elter, who picked up 13 kills apiece. They got some help from Ellen Dorsey and her 27 assists. Sarah Rawlings controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

St. James Academy's victory bumped their record up to 21-8. As for Blue Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-14-2.

Coincidentally, St. James Academy and Blue Valley will both be playing Blue Valley Northwest the next time they take the court. The Thunder will head out to face the Huskies at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
