Softball Recap: Columbia Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Columbia's offense. They fell just short of the Averill Park Warriors by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Blue Devils' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Columbia now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Averill Park, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Coming up, Columbia will be playing at home against Niskayuna at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Averill Park, they will square off against Saugerties at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Sawyers have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
