Doral Academy never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks with a sharp 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Firebirds, who have now won 17 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Meagan Villazon made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Doral Academy got a massive performance out of Sarah Breaux, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
