Basketball Game Preview: Tabiona Tigers vs. Duchesne Eagles

The Tabiona Tigers will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against the Duchesne Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tabiona has given up an average of 56.6 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tabiona is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Green River just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 67-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates.

Tabiona's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Stran Giles, who went 8-for-10 on his way to 23 points and five rebounds, and Rocky Rhoades, who shot 67% from the field en route to 23 points and six boards. Rhoades' evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Olson, who posted ten points.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. Duchesne took a hard 42-27 fall against Draper APA. The contest marked Duchesne's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Tabiona will have to contain Gatlin Davies as he made an impact in Duchesne's last game. He put up ten rebounds.

Duchesne now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Tabiona, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Tabiona skirted past Duchesne 58-56 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
