Basketball Recap: Lake Havasu Comes Up Short

Lake Havasu was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Kellis Cougars and fell 91-16. The match marked the Knights' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Lexi Tuinstra was Lake Havasu's leading scorer, having posted six points. Tuinstra also led the team in rebounds with six.

Kellis' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shanielle Mallory led the charge by going 6 for 10 on her way to 16 points along with eight assists and six steals. Mallory has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 19 times she's played. Breanitzy Stewart was another key player, going 9 of 13 en route to 21 points.

Lake Havasu's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Kellis, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Centennial the next time they take the court. Kellis will head out to face Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Lake Havasu will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
