Basketball Recap: Lassen Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Lassen, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Central Valley Falcons by a score of 56-48 on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Grizzlies as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Lassen had a senior duo take command as Connor Kirack posted 15 points and eight rebounds and Zach Hart almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 boards. That's the most points Kirack has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Terrin Hanson, who earned seven points and six boards.

Lassen smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.

Central Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jake Curry, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of TJ Saechao, who put up 13 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Lassen's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-17. As for Central Valley, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-19.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lassen will take on Foothill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Foothill is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.8 points per game this season. Central Valley has already played their next game (against Los Molinos), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
