Volleyball Recap: Lone Oak Buffaloes vs. Prairiland Patriots

After flying high against Commerce last Friday, Lone Oak came back down to earth. The Lone Oak Buffaloes came up short against the Prairiland Patriots on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The shutout was out of character for the Buffaloes seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

Lone Oak took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-21, 25-23.

Ava Wallen paced Lone Oak's offense, picking up ten kills. Wallen got some help from Lillie Hammond and her 13 assists. Hammond also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Cassidi Williams, racking up two apiece.

With the defeat, Lone Oak broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 26-10. As for Prairiland, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 27-13 record this season.
