Recap: Winston County Yellowjackets vs. Meek Tigers

The Winston County Yellowjackets were the 48-36 winner over the Meek Tigers when they last played one another on January 11th, but their luck changed this time around. Winston County fell to Meek 47-41.

Several Yellowjackets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lynleigh Cobb, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Cobb is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Lizzy Bass was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds and two steals.

Meek found their leader in underclassman Aleah Addison, who scored 17 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Addison has scored at least a third of Meek's points.

Winston County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Meek, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winston County will challenge Phillips at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Meek, they will head out on the road to take on Sumiton Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Sumiton Christian is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
