Basketball Recap: St. Joseph-Ogden Wins Going Away Against Normal West

St. Joseph-Ogden won the last time they faced Normal West and things went their way on Tuesday too. The St. Joseph-Ogden Spartans blew past the Normal West Wildcats 52-27. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 195th, while the Wildcats are ranked 451st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Normal West lost, don't look at Maliq Givens-Smith. Despite the final result, he posted eight points and five assists.

St. Joseph-Ogden's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Normal West, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

St. Joseph-Ogden wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 45-44 loss against Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin on the 16th. As for Normal West, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-36 defeat against Richwoods on the 13th.
