Basketball Recap: Wilson Victorious

On Friday, the Wilson Tigers slipped by the Huntington Expression Prep Kings 82-81. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Leading Wilson to victory were Josh Leonard and Tristan Thompson. Leonard dropped a double-double on 33 points and 14 rebounds, while Thompson went 14 of 27 on his way to 31 points in addition to eight boards and four blocks. That's the most blocks Thompson has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Khristian Bruce, who posted 14 points.

Wilson has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Huntington Expression Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Wilson won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Varsity Opponent at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Huntington Expression Prep, they and Ridge View will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
