Baseball Game Preview: Junction Eagles vs. Mason Punchers

For the second straight game, Junction will face off against Mason. The Eagles will face off against the Punchers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Mason hit Junction with a four-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Punchers.

Junction got a big performance out of Brock Bierschwale, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run. The Eagles are 4-2 when Bierschwale posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-6 otherwise. Koda Bierschwale also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Mason has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Junction, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
