Port Allen waltzed into their contest on Saturday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They blew past the White Castle Bulldogs 18-8. That's two games straight that the Pelicans have won by exactly ten runs.

Joseph Jourdan made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off four hits. Jourdan was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Port Allen got a massive performance out of Carson Chapman, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave Chapman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of James Fontenot, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Port Allen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in seven consecutive games.

Port Allen's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for White Castle, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.
