Baseball Recap: University Lab Falls Short Against Ranked Lutheran South Academy

University Lab is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Lutheran South Academy. The University Lab Cubs fell 9-5 to the Lutheran South Academy Pioneers. The Cubs' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Jake McCann and Lane Mixon did some serious damage despite the final result: McCann scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Mixon scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Ethan Hopkins also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

University Lab's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Lutheran South Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 15-1-1 record this season.

University Lab wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Riverside Academy on the 8th. As for Lutheran South Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 7-2 victory against Parkview Baptist on the 8th.
