Haxtun put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Sanford Mustangs 36-8. The Fightin' Bulldogs pushed the score to 28-8 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mustangs had little chance of recovering from.
Haxtun had a senior duo take command as Colin Cone rushed for 120 yards and a pair of scores on only ten carries and Zach Statz gained 152 total yards and two touchdowns. Statz didn't just play on offense: he also made four total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended two passes.
Haxtun was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 388 rushing yards. They rushed for 177 more rushing yards than Sanford's also-impressive total of 211.
